NLA - After the two players already confirmed their move to the shores of lake Lugano during the past season, HC Lugano has now officialized the signing of defenseman Philippe Furrer and forward Gregory Hofmann.

Whereas Furrer has signed a three-year contract with the Bianconeri, Hofmann (photo) will stay in Lugano for the upcoming four years, until the end of the 2018-19 season.

Philippe Furrer, 29, is a three-time Swiss Champion with SC Bern and has played a total of 510 games for the Bears (41 goals, 114 assists). Over the course of his career, he also suited up for the Swiss national team 114 times (three goals, nine assists).

Gregory Hofmann, 21, started his National League A career with HC Ambrì-Piotta during the 2009-10 season before he moved to the Landwassertal in 2012. Since then, the current Swiss Champion suited up for HC Davos in a total of 157 games, in which he was able to score 76 points (37 goals, 39 assists). For the Swiss national team, Hofmann has appeared in ten games so far, recording two goals. (rlu)
