Spring 2014: Over the course of the highly debated trade between Genève-Servette HC and HC Fribourg-Gottéron that involved Romain Loeffel, Jérémie Kamerzin and John Fritsche, also EV Zug played a role when they actually inked Loeffel, who was in doubt of the validity of his contract in Geneva, to a two-year deal.

However, Loeffel's contract with the Grenats proved to be valid - and is now running out at the end of the season. As EVZ's team manager Reto Kläy confirms to the Neue Luzerner Zeitung, they are still interested in signing the 23-year-old defenseman: "He's on our list."

But Kläy has more work to do as the contracts of Santeri Alatalo, Dominic Lammer, Fabian Sutter, Björn Christen, David Stämpfli, Gianluca Hauser, Fabrice Herzog, Alessio Bertaggia, and Samuel Erni are running out, of which the extension of Alatalo's contract is on top of Kläy's to-do list.
