The ZSC/GCK Lions have sealed what the Neue Zürcher Zeitung calls a "blockbuster deal" with the Zurich for their youth organization. The insurance group has met the Lions' demands and will pay CHF 1 million over the next three years, which removes the ZSC/GCK organization even more from their competitors in the youth section.
Since the beginning of the last season, the Zurich has started to fund Swiss ice hockey on many levels. They are not only the main sponsor of the national team, but also of the referees and the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup that will be relaunched in the upcoming season.
