NLA - After John Fust's departure, Lausanne HC has found their new assistant coach in Swede Rikard Franzén, as journalist Jean-Philippe Pressl-Wenger (20 minutes) reports on Twitter.

The 46-year-old Swede already has some coaching experience. He spent the majority of his staff career (and his playing career for that matter) with AIK in the SHL, starting as an assistant coach in 2007, moving on as the Director of Player Development from 2011 to 2013 and finally getting the head coach position in the 2013/14 season. However, Franzén was fired mid-season and had to look for a new job, which he now has found in Lausanne.

Franzén is also a former defenseman and already knows Swiss hockey a bit, as he played for SC Bern from 2001 to 2003, before he went back to the Swedish Hockey League.

Lausanne HC has signed him to a two-year contract. He will thus stay with the Lions until the end of the 2015/16 season.
