NLA - Recent rumor had it that Calle Andersson, son of HC Lugano's head coach Peter, could follow his father and sign with the Bianconeri as of the upcoming season. This has been denied now.

"Calle has decided to not play for his father. It's a decision we have to accept," as HC Lugano's team manager Roland Habisreutlinger said to Ticinonews.

The future of the 19-year-old defender (with Swiss license) is therefore still uncertain. If he will continue his career in Sweden or however, move to Switzerland, where several other teams might be interested in him, remains open.

Andersson is described as an all-around two-way defenseman, who contributes offensively and defensively. Furthermore he is skating well for a big guy (1,88m / 96kg) and has an impressive decision making. He has been drafted by the New York Rangers in 2012 as 119th overall.
