WOMEN'S LEAGUE

BOMO Thun and the SC Weinfelden Ladies both clinched their first victories of the season. Both teams defeated SC Reinach, which still has zero points after five games.

Last year’s runner-up HC Lugano is now in second place in the rankings thanks to a 9-2 victory in their away game in Weinfelden. Last year’s Champion, the ZSC Lions, and current leader Neuchâtel Hockey Academy did not play a game this weekend.

The two victors of this weekend will likely battle for the fourth playoff spot. For BOMO Thun, their two import player Lara Escudero (picture) from France and Linda Österlund (Finnland) both scored three goals in their 6-0 victory over Reinach. While Weinfelden wants to qualify for the playoffs for the first time, the BOMO Thun players have even greater ambitions and would like to upset the three favourites.
