For weeks, HC La Chaux-de-Fonds had been looking for a new import player. As L'Express-L'Impartial writes, they finally found a suitable player. American forward Phil DeSimone will likely soon suit up for HCC.

On Wednesday, De Simone's contract with the Utica Comets, the Vancouver Canucks' AHL affiliate, was dissolved. Now, the 29-year-old center could move to Switzerland. DeSimone has played in Europe before, namely in Finnland, Sweden, and Austria. In eight games for Utica, he scored one assist.

La Chaux-de-Fonds' team manager Chrstian Weber, however, does not want to confirm this signing. He still states that they have to decide between two players, hoping that their new import will suit up for the game on December 18. In addition, the team will likely announce a contract extension today.
