As EHC Biel announces, the Seelanders' Board of Directors unanimously decided this morning to no longer count on Kevin Schläpfer as their head coach.

The Board of Directors saw the need for a change, as they are not content with the way things are going on the sportive side of things. EHC Biel currently sits at ninth place in the standings and thus would be out of the playoffs.

Schläpfer will be replaced on an ad interim basis by Mike McNamara (67), who is currently the head coach of Biel's U17 team. Schläpfer has served as a staff member of the Seelanders since 2005. In 2010, he became the head coach of the first team.
