As SC Bern announces, they have prematurely extended the contract of Swiss international Eric Blum. Originally, his deal would have expired at the end of this season, but now he is signed through 2022.

The first two years of his five-year deal include an out clause for the NHL. However, this clause can only be activated if he were to sign a one-way contract with an NHL team.

The 30-year-old defenseman joined the Bears in 2014. Since then he has appeared in 114 games for them, scoring eleven goals and 53 assists. His new contract is valid until the end of the 2021-22 season.
