National League

HC Fribourg-Gottéron announced in a press conference 30 minutes after a 4-2 loss against HC Davos that Larry Huras has been signed as the new head coach of the Dragons.

Blick had reported earlier this week that the Canadian would be the successor of Gern Zenhäusern. The Dragons now have signed him to a contract valid until the end of the 2016-17 season. Zenhäusern decided this week to pursue a different position within the organisation which offers him and his family more stability.

Larry Huras has been searching for a new task since he was fired by MODO mid-season. The 61-year-old Canadian can look back on a long, successful career, which also saw him winning NLA championship titles with the ZSC Lions, HC Lugano and SC Bern. He will start his new job on Monday.
