With the worst defense in the National League, HC Lugano is apparently trying to find a remedy and Viktor Svedberg might be the solution. The former player of Avangard Omsk is a free agent and is expected to join HC Lugano tomorrow. As anticipated by the newspaper, Svedberg will have to go through a try-out period in order to earn himself a full contract.

Last season, Svedberg collected seven points in 45 games in Omsk. Prior to that, he spent time with CSKA Moskva, Barys Astana, and Linköping HC. Moreover, the 32-year-old spent five seasons in the organization of the Chicago Blackhawks from 2013 to 2018, suiting up 30 times in the NHL and 269 times in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs.
