Arrived in Switzerland last December to reinforce the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, Pontus Åberg will apparently not remain in the National League. He will join Barys Astana instead. It will be his second stint in the KHL, having already suited up for Traktor Chelyabinsk in the 2020-21 season.

According to Swedish news outlet Expressen, which cites a source from Russia, the 29-year-old forward is off to Kazakhstan.
