RUMOR - As Auston Matthews' family advisor Pat Brisson told Ryan Kennedy from The Hockey News, the 17-year-old forward is considering offers from Europe for the upcoming season. Apparently also from Switzerland.

According to Sportsnet's Damien Cox, sources say that Matthews has been contacted by several Swiss teams and speculates that the likliest options are SC Bern and the ZSC Lions, who both have import-spots open, or Genève-Servette HC. The young talent is widely projected to become the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Auston Matthews, 17, only recently played the U18 World Championship in Switzerland with the US-team. He not only won the gold medal, but was also voted the tournament's best forward and MVP, thanks to scoring eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in seven games. (tme)
