One week befor the NHL training-camps start, Damien Brunner is still without a contract. Thus, it is possible that Brunner will wear again the jersey of Since the 5th of July, Damien Brunner is officially an Unrestricted Free Agent. But still, he is without an NHL-contract for the season that starts on October 1st. For that reason, he might begin the season with EV Zug. EVZ-team manager Jakub Horak in an interview with the "Neue Luzerner Zeitung": "We don't plan with Brunner, but we would love to have him on our team".
A possibility would be to offer Brunner a contract from game to game so that he has the freedom to return to North America whenever he wants. But there is also a chance that other Swiss teams (SC Bern, HC Lugano and Fribourg-Gottéron are mentioned) could make an even better offer than Zug. But Horak believes, that EVZ is contractually protected from this danger.
