RUMOR - As hockeysverige.se reports, Pär Arlbrandt is set to leave SHL-team Linköping and join EHC Biel and former teammate Niklas Olausson for the upcoming season.

The 31-year-old forward has still a year left on his contract with Linköping, but made clear that he wanted to play in another league at some point. He had told hockeysverige.se at an earlier point that he was going to play the upcoming season with his team, but apparently plans changed.

As LHC's team president Mike Helber told expressen.se last night, the team would let go of Arlbrandt if they get what they want as compensation for him. Furthermore, Arlbarndt's agent Pontus Norén confirmed that he was indeed in discussions with some teams, but would not comment more on the subject.

He certainly also would know one of his potential teammates: NIklas Olausson. They played together for three seasons, one of them for Västerås (08/09) in the Allsvenskan (second highest Swedish League), where they put up records together (highest point total (71) for Arlbrandt in league history, highest assist total (56) by Olausson) and then in the SHL for Luleå (2009-2011).

Pär Arlbrandt scored 71 points (26 goals, 45 assists) in 53 games in the regular season for Linköping last year, a point production which earned him the spot of the SHL-topscorer last season. His postseason was also quite good with ten points in 14 games.
