According to North American sources cited by journalist Klaus Zaugg, the deal with the 32-year-old forward Chuck Kobasew seems to be cut and dried - but not yet officially announced due to the North American custom of not announcing transfers before the season has ended.

Kobasew currently plays for Pittsburgh's AHL-affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, which he joined after he had recovered from an injury. For them, he scored eleven goals in twelve games. Before that, Kobasew played a total of 645 NHL games (114 goals, 104 assists) for Calgary, Boston, Minnesota, Colorado and Pittsburgh.

In addition to forward Kobasew, SC Bern is also interested in signing Lev Praha's Canadian defenseman Nathan Oystrick. The 31-year-old played his last two seasons in the KHL, where he scored eight goals and added 29 assists in 105 games. This deal, however, is far from done, as Russian sources confirm to Watson.ch.
