The 31-year-old Canadian played with the Växjö Lakers in the Swedish Hockey League this season, since he had not been able to find a job in the National Hockey League last summer.

According to Linus Norberg, the Lakers are not likely to renew Armstrong's contract, since he will probably not come cheap. Thus, he concludes that the Canadian could look for a job in the National League A or in the KHL for the upcoming season.

Colby Armstrong played over 470 games in the NHL, scoring 209 points for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the now defunct Atlanta Trashers, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montréal Canadiens.

With the Växjö Lakers this season, Armstrong was able to score a total of 20 points (12 goals, 8 assists) in 47 games.
