The game against Germany was the 400th game in the history of the Swiss Women’s National Team. The Swiss took the lead in the first period thanks to a power play goal by Alina Müller. The equalizer for the German team at the beginning of the second period was a power play goal as well.

When the Swiss were looking for a win in the third and put some pressure on the Germans, a turnover led to the game-winning-goal for the Germans, who were relegated from the Top Division in April at the World Championship in Malmö. Head coach Gian-Marco Crameri pulled goalie Florence Schelling already with three and a half minutes on the clock. The consequence was the third goal for the Germans into the empty net.

Today, the Swiss will face the Slovaks, who are also still looking for the first points in this tournament. On Sunday, the Czech Republic awaits Switzerland. (dmo/tme)
