As La Liberté reports, Gottéron responded favorably to the SIHF's enquiry about hosting the tournament, after they had received an agreement in principle from the City Council of Fribourg.
The tournament would take place in HC Fribourg-Gottéron's new arena that will have a capacity of almost 9000. However, Fribourg is not the only city interested in having the World Championship: Zug, Kloten and Zurich are also in the running.
