NHL - As Neue Luzerner Zeitung journalist Nicola Berger writes on Twitter, the New Jersey Devils will place their forward Damien Brunner on unconditional waivers today at 6pm CET - a requirement if team and player wish to terminate their contract.

This news comes just after newspapers from the Ticino have suggested earlier today that Damien Brunner might be on his way to Lugano, although HCL's team manager Habisreutinger said he still thinks Brunner "will end up in Russia."

Damien Brunner had been assigned to the New Jersey Devils AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils, late last week after clearing regular waivers. In 17 NHL games with the New Jersey Devils this season, the forward has scored two goals and five assists.
