NHL - Whereas Nino Niederreiter's contract negotiations with the Minnesota Wild seem to come to an end soon, Raphael Diaz has no concrete contract offer yet, but is in contact with several NHL teams.

As Nino Niederreiter told SRF Sport in an interview on the occasion of the first gathering of the Swiss national team under coach Glen Hanlon, only contract length and "some details" are still to be resolved with his current team, the Minnesota Wild. "From that perspective, we are really close to signing a new deal," the 21-year-old said.

Defenseman Raphael Diaz, on the other hand, is still looking for a new contract in the NHL: "I'm in contact with several teams, but there's nothing concrete, yet," Diaz said to SRF Sport, "but I hope that something will turn up in the next couple of weeks or months." So far, the 28-year-old hasn't thought about a return to Switzerland: "I don't know yet, I would have to look at it again - but my goal is the NHL."

UPDATE Michael Russo, who covers the Minnesota Wild for the Star Tribune, expects Niederreiter to sign a "two- to four-year deal later this month or in early September."
