NHL - What earlier has been reported by several North American sources is now confirmed: The New York Rangers have added Genève-Servette HC's Canadian forward Matt Lombardi to their official roster.

It seems like a nightmare for Genève-Servette HC: With Matt Lombardi, 32, the league's top scorer from last year definitely leaves the shores of Lake Geneva in direction of the Big Apple. In New York, Lombardi reportedly signed a two-year contract worth $1.6 million.

Matt Lombardi is the fifth major loss for Geneva - netminder Tobias Stephan not included. With Lombardi, Denis Hollenstein, Kaspars Daugavins, Lennart Petrell, and Cody Almond, the "Grenats" lose 71 of 158 goals scored over the course of the regular season 2013/14.
