Pettersson, 28, joined HC Lugano during the 2013-14 season. Despite a valid contract, the Swedish forward decided to use his KHL out-clause. From 2012 until November of 2013, Pettersson already played in the KHL for Donbass Donetsk. (bsc)

Confirmed – Fredrik Pettersson has signed with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod
As the Russian team Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod announces on their website, Frederik Pettersson has indeed signed a contract with them. After two and a half seasons in Switzerland, the Swede will return to the KHL.
